Hi there,

I saw this Dendrobium back in August at a show* and rather liked it. Unfortunately, I lost the piece of paper I wrote the name down on!

Can anyone hazard a guess as to what it is?

I have vague memories of something "shining" or "sparkling" in the name, but am not sure.

Thanks for any ideas.

I can have a look after work in Orchidwiz, and check if there anything with shining or sparkle in the names. That's assuming that one of those is correct.

One of these days, along with teleporters, someone needs to invent image recognition that can cope with a question like "find me a name for a flower that looks like this".

Or something like the fingerprint software police use! Scan a bloom pic,and the computer automatically finds potential matches. lol, wishful thinking.
Googling plants based on descriptions is a major headache!

The closest I can find is Dendrobium Ellen (kingianum x tetragonum) or Jesmond Glitter (complex) Blushing Star is close, but the lip is wrong. Aussie Springtime is too "beefy".

Looking at tetragonum, that seems like a promising parent given the shape... not to mention the breeding programmes with it.

I wonder if anyone knows who exhibited it... That is also a winning avenue of inquiry!
