I have not watered this Den. hardly at all since Halloween. Today I decided to give it a shot of water and I noticed a lot of new root growth. Is this common during the winter rest period? It gets very little sun in the morning and bright light all day, it had 6 psuedo bulbs and has grown 3 of them since I got this orchid in March of '11. It has not bloomed yet for me.

I normally rest my Den. aggregatum var. Majus from November 1st to February 1st so I'll start watering again very soon. My plant is showing white roots but they're not actively growing at present. I think, if you see root growth, you could start misting now and gradually work into full watering.

OK, thank you Shirley, I will follow your advice. The psuedo bulbs are pretty shriveled, I expect it will take a while for them to look normal again?
