Den. Enobi Purple 'Splash' finally has a bloom!
Finally a week ago one of the buds on my Den. Enobi Purple 'Splash' opened! It must have been too cool in the greenhouse for them to open. 2 had blasted and the next mature one wasn't looking promising so I brought it into the house. The 3rd one also blasted and then when I least expected it the next (4th) bud opened a day or two after bringing it in! There are 3 more buds and I don't know if they will open, but at least I get to see one! I think I have determined that it was a bit too cool in the greenhouse and the buds, once mature, just sat there and couldn't open. Anyways, below is my little beauty

Only one bloom but it really is gorgeous!! Seems like you've been watching this plant for ages and ages.
As for me, looks like I'll be getting one normally. I decided not to go to London, UK show so I'll go to the one in France in March, and pre-order a Splash!!! Now I just have to hope that my busy work schedule (involves working weekends sometimes) will let me go.

I feel like I have been watching this for ages! I got it a year ago in Feb. after several failed attempts to get one It didn't have many roots, so it needed much tender care. Then it took just over 3 months since it started spiking to get this one bloom. Hopefully next year it will be more robust and I will now know to try and give it a warmer environment. Sometimes hybrids are adaptable to cooler conditions (or warmer) but this one must be a bit tender.

Thanks all for the comments. Jrodpad, I think the photo got the purple pretty accurately. A very rich pinkish purple and a nice clear white on the rest of the petals.
Sadly I think the next two buds will blast, leaving only hope for the last one. But I am still enjoying the one and only bloom which still looks like new after more than 2 weeks. And I think I learned what this plant needs for next winter.
