WOWWWW!!! That is one heck of a floral display!! How does it smell? If it flowers that well, I wouldnt worry about not dropping its leaves. I have a anosmum that is near the end of its fall nap, and should be pushing out buds soon. It flowers every january for me. What is pierardii's typical blooming time? Its absolutely gorgeous! Great job!!

I am not sure when it normally blooms it started last month this year and last year started about this time as for scent it has enough to fill the area but its not always a nice scent sometimes its a little strange and smells a little offensive like some kind of chemical ,other times its more floral...Im keeping a eye on my den nestor that does the same as this one and never drops leaves but blooms ,it started just about a month after this one last year

That "little" ol' thing?! LOL Well done! Personally, I prefer it with the leaves still on.

LOL actually I was being just a bit of a smart alec
with the comment on the leaf drop ...always heard they wont bloom unless they get the rest period and have dropped their leaves and the first year was actually thinking I was not going to be able to bloom the nestor or this one because I do not have a spot to give them that ....but they both kept every leaf and bloomed just fine and no rest period for either one at all

scent it does have but its kind of strange some days it smells ok some days its kind of icky guess its just moody ...LOL
sSeriously have you ever read the stuff about den nestor and how the smell diffrently to different people sometimes described as kind of like burnt plastic well some times its kind of icky with a chemical tone to it but not strong ...other times I walk in and the entire room has the scent but it is a weak but nice scent I am guessing it is dependent on the temperature maybe?
