I bought this nobile type Dendrobium on sale today, but I am unfamiliar with it. Does anyone have any photos, and experiences to share with me of this plant?

Your plant is a nobile type dendrobium that requires no fertilizer after August and a dry, cool (50's) rest from Nov. until buds are set, probably about Feb. Once buds are fully formed, you can begin regular watering. If you water too much or keep temps to high you will end up with lots of kiki's and no flowers.

Please tell me where you obtained your plant. I have been looking for one and have not been able to find a source.

It was on my wish-list for quite some time before I found it

That received an Award of Merit from the AOS in 2006, so you may want to add AM/AOS to the tag. Orchidwiz has a closeup photo.

i also have nobile den and the plant kept on multiplying but no flower. With winter rest, does that mean no water and fertilizer or, reduced water and fertilizer. What other orchids need winter rest. thanks

There are a number of plants that like a winter rest, mostly some of the Dens.

In my world, a winter rest means they have their water and food cut off at the beginning of November and they get barely misted (more like carry-over fom misting the stuff next to them) until late Feb/early Mar, which is when regular watering and feeding starts back up again.

in the recent Orchids publication a comment from Yin-Tung Wang PhD. many orchids including the nobile type dendrobiums species and hybrids are said to require a period of dormancy and water must be withheld for triggering flowering. his research demonstrates that this is not true.
