It may not be true but it will get you flowers instead of kikis. I have tried his method and it definitely did not work for me.

Would like to make a correction on one of the plants you have. Ansellia Africana is not a dendrobium but a sepcies orchids that is native to Africa. It appreciates some neglect in the winter with bright light to ripen the canes and it will bloom in the spring.

Wow - thanks for all the responses everyone. What a beautiful plant. I look forward to its flowers! Someone (sorry - can't remember who) asked where I got it from - I got it from a local nursery called Ellerslie Gift and Garden here in Edmonton, Canada. Since you live in Florida you won't be able to get one from them because they don't do shipping - sorry. I don't know of any other sources, either.

Please tell me where you obtained your plant. I have been looking for one and have not been able to find a source.

I was so tempted to buy one of these at the Orchid Show this year. I love it's flaming colors. It's truly an amazing little flower as the lip is fuzzy and can't be noticed in the photos here. In other words, it's much prettier in person!

dendrobium nobile
I also have a dendrobium nobile. I don't have a picture of it but I bought it at odom's orchids. It is called red emperor prince. It is an easy plant to grow. There have been a lot of hybrids done with this plant.

Dennis,
My last issue of Orchids got tossed out by mistake so I can't read the article. Could you please give us the basics of his cultural advice on these plants.
Thanks!
