Dendrobium Distichum need winter rest?

I can not find any information on what kind of winter rest this orchid needs. Can someone give me some help please?

if you are growing it indoors, you need to lessen water and fertilizer the last two months of winter (January&February) then resume watering and fertilizer...
I suggest if you are watering it every other day, then in Jan start watering it only once a week...and fertilizer it twice a month...
this den have fragrant flowers and they just bloom all year round except the dormant months

Thanks Bud, does it need any cool rest? I'm going in doors but can give it a cool spot. I have a Neo and another Den there.

yes, I beleive it needs cool rest. but not near freezing...mid 50's maybe...but with all my orchids this winter I have them all on 65F even the vandas...and in the daytime they have 70 to 80F

I can have them at mid 50s to 60s, but it'll be more of a constant temp. What temp would be best?

I wouldn't give this species a significantly cooler period, temps in the habitat stay warm year-round with average minimums in the high 60s F throughout winter. Drier period in habitat is Jan-March but don't let it get completely dry for long as high humidity makes a lot of moisture available via condensation. I recommend you check out the Bakers' culture sheet for this species, you can get it in their Dendrobium book or buy it online at Orchid Culture -- Charles and Margaret Baker. Hope this helps!

According to the book "Dendrobium and its relatives"'
" While a slightly drier period may be useful in winter, plants are probably best kept reasonably moist throughout the year. They should be given warm humid conditions with bright filtered light all year. The pendulous habit makes the plants best suited to a slab, but a hanging pot with a well-drained medium is also suitable."
