dendrobium kingianum problem

so the problem's not with the plant but with my relationship. my gf of 4 years left me because i bought a verry large specimen kingianum from orchids.com and then she started monitoring my spending and said i have a problem. lol i'm just asking if any one else has encountered this issue and how did you treat it. did you give it a winter rest or some water and fertilizer or just say to hell with it and hope for the best. i'm leaning toward the very last one
