So I've had this dend for atleast a week now. But I have my suspicions. Keeping in mind that my own dend is still young, but seeing all of the other photos of this plant on the web don't really look like mine. At the base of the pseudobulb it is VERY thin in width and you go up the cane it gets much larger is girth around half way up the cane. Is that what its suppose to look like?

I'll post photos ASAP

Yes sir, I have a fimbriatum that looks like yours but I let the canes fall over the edge of the basket.

Hi Jeffrey - your plant looks like fimbriatum to me, but it will be impossible to be sure until it produces flowers...be aware that this plant can become quite a beast, with canes in excess of 6'/2m. Mine has only a half-dozen canes, but the longest is taller than I am. In bloom, of course, it is quite spectacular!
Cheers - Nancy
