The Taiwanese name for this species is ' Brush dendrobium'. It is from the lowlands in SE Asia and i used to consider this species could not stand lower temperatures here. But luckily they seem do well outdoors all years round. They just grow and grow without distinct rest period, even in cold winter. They flower in late summer here. The tiny flowers is 0.5 cm around and therefore it is somewhat difficult to take a closeup image.

The two images were selected from about 20 ones i took this afternoon. I found my DC(Nikon coolpix 4300) would tend to be out of focus when shooting pink or purple little flowers.

Pheli, what are the high and low temps your beautiful brush dendrobium is subjected to? I live in a semitropical part of the USA, and I would like to leave mine outside.

Hi, it is 5o-57 ºF here in winter and in hot days in July, it is about 91-100 ºF.
But in winter, i don't give them a lot of water even when they are still growing.
