Went to a big orchid vendor a week ago. After running around in the greenhouses like a child in a toys r us, the owner decided I was probably going to be excited about this one too. He was right!

He's been growing for 25+ yrs if I understood right, and the couple times he ever saw this blooming, three times it was during the day (it was not fully opened yet and it was 2 pm).

Here ya go!

You were very lucky then to see this one in bloom! Was this the trip over to Wubben that you had mentioned? I think I'll have to go tour the greenhouse too, but leave the wallet at home!

Yep! I was only there for a blitz visit, I had to work the afternoon. Very helpful guy, but boy, he's expensive!! When I have time (and betterr photo's) I'll post my purchases. i ended up spending €55,-.
Btw, it says on his website you get a free plant when spending €50, but alas, didn't know that when I was there and he didn't offer any but thats just me being a nag.
There was quite a lot blooming, masdies, bulbo's, phals..

And there are kittens! 4 weeks old ^.^

Cool, look forward to the pics then!
I think that the only thing I may get if I visit is a Phal Mini Mark.

I can't remember if you said you were working on saturday or not, so I'll ask again; are you going to the orchidshow on saturday?

That is beautiful! I have never seen even a picture of one of those before (never thought to look it up!). Sorry you didn't get your free plant. : ( Maybe the vendor was little excited about showing you the dendrobium and forgot completely about it. You could always take your receipt back and ask, mentioning that you both probably forgot due to that beautiful flower of his. : )

Never heard of that one, Sarinah, it's very nice ! Hopefully if it's fragrant it's NOT like the Phal ! The Phal amboinensis has a fragrance that is VERY astringent as well as invasive and I, personally, could not tolerate it.

Attached a pix for you, Camille ! Old pix, Mini Mark has now been with me 5 years and resides in a 5.5" pot and is much larger !
