Noid Dendrobium bigibbum var. compactum hybrid
The first of our botanical garden's Thai donation dendrobiums is open. The Thai Embassey sent us a total of 10 Dendrobium bigibbum var. compactum hybrids. This is the first to open and another will be open in the next day or two. This one has 7 flowers on the spike but the plant is just 5" tall. These dwarf hybrids are great! If anyone wants to give me a name for this one, go for it!

'Windblown Snow's Purple Cow'
Windblown snow is snow blown into drifts in some areas and packed solid in others.
A purple cow is something remarkable, eye-catching and/or, unusual.

That name is too long to put on a tag! Can't you come up with something shorter?

I was thinking purple haze but ..
it's a state of confusion or euphoria, possibly drug-induced, type of marijuana
Didn't think it had a good connotation

Blackberry Frost sounds delightful! Do you think the public will know it's not the real name? (like who would ever be able to properly name it anyway!) I keep records on the blooming dates etc. of the collection and I hate calling it Dendrobium hybrid #1, so in my records it will be Blackberry Frost...thanks Terri!
