Since I've got two of them, I guess I'll start acclimating one of them. I'll put it outside just now and take it in tomorrow morning, before sun gets too strong.
I'll keep you posted.

Last May I was given a 5 yr old dark purple Vappodes phalaenopsis=The Cooktown Orchid(a dendrobium phalaenopsis)...after the blooms have gone it gave me two basal keikis; now both of the keikis have grown and spiking; the old mother plant is also giving me two spike...I cant wait...it must be a spectacular show!

Vappodes phalaenopsis

I really wish that the taxonomists would just stop mucking around with the orchid genera already. It wouldn't be so bad if it were just once in awhile but lately it seems like it is every day that something is changed and a few weeks later it is changed again or changed back to what it was.

I give up, from now on I am sticking with the old names that I grew up growing orchids under. I wonder if they have ever heard the ols saying "If it's not broken don't fix it"? I somehow doubt it!!
