Love the color on this one! I have a red one too and it has had what I think is a bud for almost a month now, though I'm not sure if it is truly a bud or not as I have never owned one before. But you are right - it does seem to take FOREVER, more so than any other orchid I own, lol...

This one is a bit of a paradox because it likes high light but needs to be kept cool. It also likes to be sopping wet all the time.

I envy your being able to grow and bloom these little gems! Alas, I'd never be able to meet their temperature requirements.

I keep them in net pots and run a fan on them all day to evaporatively cool them. seems to be working ok.

nice color and healthy green plant too... mine won co/winner species of the month last month at the meeting.(..psst and he is happy too and has another bud and many more little cuthberbabies.) The small blooms get a lot of attention bec they are hard to get going in the right direction.

Notice: the bloom is not attached physically to the bulb, but is attached to the outer leaf that it was grown on

Think COOL

This is a beautiful little gem. Too bad that it needs it cooler than what I can grow it in. They need to cross it with Dendrobium rigidum and see if they can get the size and flower color with the warm growing from the rigidum. Enjoy your bloom and post pictures when the red one blooms !!!!
