Default Orange ring on nodes

Is it normal to have orange rings developing on the node creases? I saw it on another picture for dendrobium. Wondering if this is rust or something else.

I think what you notice is part of segment ring thats dried up over time. when the segments are fresh they are green and then yellow. as they get older and more exposed to light and air, the segment rings turn orange.
