Unhappy Your opinion requested please

I thought I'd take a chance and put my Dendrobium (Phal type) outside....when I looked out it was gone!!! well, not really....it was somehow picked up by the wind and dropped off the deck about 4 -5 feet and the clay pot smashed.
None of the branches broke, but now my new shoot seems to have stopped growing and the bottom two leaves yellowed...has this happened to any of you? should I be concerned? I obviously had to repot...it's been 1 week today. Otherwise, all seems to be okay.
Thanks

My Sederia japonica blew off my 3rd floor balcony about a month ago. Tore the newest leaf in half, and broke several roots. It has healed and has a new leaf growing already. Orchids are quite resilient.

As a matter of fact, YES! I had a real mess to clean up and some freaky storm passed thru last nite.(not the first time this year)

I only had about 13 orchids outside, Many were catts, dens ... etc. All in clay pots smashed in many pieces.
I'm not worried cos' I know they will recover.
Still need to repot them, Urk!

Don't worry to much, they're pretty tough

Do you think my new shoot will continue to grow where it left off? or will this shock to it cause it to stop for good now and perhaps not bloom...I've been waiting 4 years for this one to bloom! man oh man!!
Thanks

These chids are pretty forgiving. I had a new shoot chopped off by the fan when a dend fell and it made its way back to flourish me in blooms. The plant will be in shock but will come around quicker than we/you think. Don't change the regimen. When something like this happens it's easier for me to accept the fact that being in their natural habitate is not always so settling. Eases the pain we give ourselves.

Keep us updated...gl

You might consider giving it a gentle boost Helen, with a light spray of seaweed extract, and a couple of drops of super thrive. That has helped me in the past when storms whacked my orchids and they needed a little help to recover.

It's been since June 24th when my den. Sonia 'Earsakul' fell and pot broke..at the time a new shoot was growing wonderfully and some new roots...since the fall there has been absolutely NO activity and I water only every 11 - 14 days...should I not water at all for a while? I heard that the roots cannot take up any water when it is not in growth mode???

Any advise here would be greatly appreciated...
thanks!

I take it you have summer? Dends need more water than that! Mine is dunked every 3-4 days as they don't like drying out. Perhaps it's thirsty?
