Den. palpebrae Male
Default Den. palpebrae

The species is very similar to Den. farmeri but the plant itself is bigger and the blooms are larger.
It blooms regular in spring every year. The blooms last about one week.

How often does this species bloom in a year ?? Mine seems to bloom every 2-3 months . I got about 10 spikes in January/February ( only 4 bloomed though ). And as of today (May), I have another 2 spikes emerging. Last year , it also bloomed once in July and another blooming wave in September ...
I noticed that as long as you have a 15F or more degree difference in temp, then the spikes start to emerge.

I am wondering if that would put too much stress on the plant, though ???

My plant blooms once each year.
Like nobile dendrobiums, it blooms after a period of winter rest. If the new growths still develop normally, it seems to be all right for the plant.

Philippe
My plant was imported from Thailand a lot of years ago. Is it common to see them in your country?
