Default Dendrobium kingianum

This little plant has 15 spikes, I think - two keikis from last year, left on plant, each have spikes, and while spikes were developing, a new keiki developed as well. It's only about an inch tall, but it also has a small spike with 3 buds on it (in the first pic, in the upper right, you can see three buds - that's the buds on the tiny keiki)
I noticed the nodes swelling already in late summer last year, so I have been watching the spikes and buds develop for a looooooooong time!

I have this potted in a combination perlite and pumice mix.

I had been worried I might not be able to bloom this plant - I struggled with it a bit the first year (09) - allowed it to become too dry in summer, then in winter (potted in coconut husk chips) over-watered, and parts of it rotted.
So, last year, I potted it down, and into pumice and perlite mix, and it's been much happier!

Well done!
I hope you enjoy can enjoy the flowers for a reasonable time... They are done with blooming so quickly! How is the smell of yours? Sweet honey? Love that scent!
I had several in my bedroom and even with an open window the smell in that room was lovely!

Wow That's the kind of show one loves to see! I would like to get one of these one day. I almost got a nice looking one at our society sale table (cheap too) but someone snapped it up right under my nose before I could pick it up!!! Oh well, you win some you lose some.

Great growing.

Gorgeous! A spray bottle of vinegar you said? I can think of a few candidates for that treatment! A plant like that makes suffering that acrid smell worth it. I'll remember your plant next time I go to the grocery store.
