thanks  - I'm sure the climate here doesn't hurt - just need to really stay on top of watering in the summer, but apparently it likes our autumns and winters quite well  |

We are experiencing right now what it is like to go through a dry season. It has been exactly one month since we have had rain where I live and with the wind and high temperatures, watering is a real chore for things growing outside.

pretty much can't expect any rain here May - Oct, so I water a LOT in summer!

That sure is a long time to go without rain but I know how it is because I lived in LA for a few years.

We had low 80's and humidity was a perfect 45. Not a bad day but still not rain. I have learned the hard way not to take any growing advice from California growers because it simply does not work here. For example, at 18% humidity you could mist your plants two or three times per day and they would still dry off before dusk. If I were to do that I would present myself with a big fungus problem.

hehe - yeah, rot and fungus are not usually a problem - except for plants outside in winter getting rained on at night (other than cyms, which are impervious to just about everything! lol) |
