Den. miyakei
Den. miyakei is native to Taiwan and the Philippines.
My plant is from the Philippines and the blooms are pink. Taiwan's native miyakei is thought to be red-coloed.

Stunning. Great growing. Is this a deciduous dendrobium?
Thanks for sharing.

It is not a deciduous one, but the old pseudobulbs are usually leafless.

Dendrobium bullenianum, a close relative to Den. miyakei, is also in bloom.

Your blooms are beautiful! I just bought one last night and should be coming in soon!I've read a lot of conflicting information - deciduous vs. non-deciduous, winter rest vs no winter rest... How do you care for yours?
If it does require a winter rest, so does this mean that I need to withhold water until I see growth on canes?

In fact, it is a semi-deciduous dendrobium. The blooms always appear in leafless old pesudobulbs.
Since it is a tropical species, it does not need so low winter temperature as that for most nobile type dendrobiums. But, keep it sight dry in winter is needed.
