Usually by the time they get here to the states they are pretty well shaken up and need to be potted out immediately.

He does pack them well, but the USDA opens the package and inspects it before sending them on.

I have been thinking about what i will pot them in first before doing anything else like mounting.

Right now i think i will put them in a community seedling tray and use a homemade seedling mixture of a little fine active charcoal a little fine white pumice and the rest A grade sphagnum.

I could put them in 100% sphagnum. But from experience and literature i know these also like well draining media.

Since i will be keeping the humidity very high the medium only has to be damp and airy.

Thoughts?
