I received this plant this fall and after being told they like a cold rest, moved it out into my sunroom. It spent about 3 1/2 weeks in there, unheated in October after a month of dryout indoors. I brought it in after the first few light frosts. It soon erupted into a mass of flowers. It is currently in a 4" pot. It is my first Den Nobile to bloom.
I noticed that you have a keiki growing that has a MASSIVE root system. You could remove it and pot it up by itself. Of course you should wait until the flowers have dropped. And at the fact that the keiki has a new growth developing goes to say that the orchid is SUPER happy
That is beautiful! I only have 1 Den that I purchased for $3 because it was in rough shape and I thought it was a waste for the store to throw it out at the end of the day. It bloomed for me (pic attached) and I like it. I think the canes vs. the leaves on other orchids was what I didn't like about Dens. Now that I've been going into this forum I see what people love about them. I will have to commit to only buying Dens at the next orchid show.
Thanks for changing my mind about these orchids.
