Default Dendrobium Nobile ?

Hello,
I have just been given my first Dend... the florist it was bought from wrote on a card "dendrobium Nobile"....
It's full of flowers.. although I doubt they'll last very long as was kept in a car all afternoon and when I was given it even the plastic pot was warm ! first thing i did after unwrapping it was give it a quick soak...
does any one know what it is exactly ?
I am successful with phals, paphs & cats.... and have various "spots" in the house for each type.... I have read it needs the same amount of light as a cat should I put it ' in the cats' spot straight away (ie: more light) or only after the flowerings done?
and If anyone can identify... I would really appreciate it !
thank you

Looks like a Nobile to me. However I don't know the given name, Lovely flowers and lots of them - Beautiful!!

Indeed these need high light to do their best. Early morning sunlight after the flowers are gone is a good choice.
What zone are you in???

It looks like Dendrobium Stardust `Firebird' , a classic dendrobium hybrid.
Here is a link to its online image:

Hi all, I was trying to look up fo more info on this plant & came across my own thread!... so I thought it a good idea to share an 'update' . All the growths made me Keikis during 2008 I still have 2 of the original growths (on their last legs) I ended up repotting into s/h since... the keikis are growing and one has 2! flowers on it! .. well at least it's still alive ...& it is still my only dendrobium..
I have no idea if it is the kind that needs 'a winter rest' or not? & I if so, how does one give a plant in s/h winter rest exactly?..
I have not "figured out" how to read the signs of what this plant needs & when ? I would appreciate any input.. here it is now with its 2 flowers, one of which is deformed.. not a good photo - I apologise..
Thanks

An other Update..
I'm getting better at this! I watered less from dec to feb/march; watered more when I saw buds and I now have a whole cane of flowers! Next I need to see about getting more & more canes flowered at once.. and one day get it to look like when it was given to me!

Great growing. It's looking really good.

I have Den Stardust 'Choyomi' which is very similar but yellower flowers.
Dendrobium Stardust "Chyomi"

I have some later pictures of it which are a mass of flowers like your first pic, and are down to the nursary I bought it from even though they've opened since, I'm yet to see if I can get it to rebloom myself so I'm really interested how you are caring for yours.

I think this one DOES need a winter rest but as I've only had it less than a month I really don't know how to care for it yet.
