I just got my dendrobium gatton sunray the other day, but I'm not really sure of the specific care techniques used for this species . Does anyone have any pointers?

G'day Jeffrey! I am a long way from being an 'expert' in anything but I do have a Den. gatton sunray that is about to flower.
I was given a division by another forum member a little over a year back that consisted of not much more than two leafless canes. It sent out a small new growth last summer.
A few weeks ago, the two old canes suddenly produced one small flower spike each. Hopefully, the buds will open in the next week.
I live in the subtropics and this plant gets the same treatment as anything else I have in the SH i.e. - outdoors under 70% shade potted in composted pine bark and fed weekly weakly.
Please bear in mind that this flowering may be the plant's last great act of defiance before it dies but I hope not as I have seen photos of magnificant flowering large plants.
Good luck with your plant.

Baz

Jeffrey, I got my Den. Gatton Sunray 2 weeks ago from Kawamoto in HI. I asked Reid Kawamoto to give me any tips, and he said to simply give it bright filtered light, water it thoroughly every week and fertilize every other week. He also clarified it that he doesn't give this plant any winter rest period. FYI, I grow it on the balcony here in So Cal. Oh, and mine is 2 beautiful growths with leaves and one leafless one. I'll be very excited when I see new growths and leaves
