Very nice, Eric! How are you growing this one? I've got a few of its close relatives and I've thought of getting one of these, but I've heard it's a bit tricky to grow well...

someone on this board just traded that to me about two months ago and all i did was mount it and water it everyday in my greenhouse i would think that if you have one established it wouldn't be much differant then Dendrobium wassellii. Which i grow to and it bloomed for the first time for me this summer about a month ago. so maybe in nature they bloom around the same time .

Thanks for the info, Eric! I've read that this species grows roots really slowly and prefers a very broad diurnal temperature range, I think I might wait until I get a greenhouse to try it out...

Yours is great, though, I hope it continues to do well for you!

Here are 2 more photos of Den cucumerinum. The plants are cute & interesting by themselves, even without flowers, because they resemble tiny cucumbers. They also have an interesting characteristic. The plants are very succulent in their behavior. If they experience periods of very low humidity the plants will become very shriveled & skinny. If they are misted or watered, in a matter of 5-10 minutes the plants will become very plump once again.

As you can see in the mid sections of the photos, a few of the roots are also plump on the very engorged plants.
