This is a very unusual Dendrobium. I have been waiting for months for this plant to bloom. The plant is growing under 50% shade cloth with the rest of my orchids. The reed stems are tall--about 18 inches long. I obtained this plant in a 2-inch clay pot in April 2009 from Orchid Center. The plant is still in its two inch pot with the roots overwhelming the pot. This is the first bloom. The plant has a couple of other buds at the tips of the reed stem. The flower has a natural spread of 1-1/2 inches horizontally and 1-5/8 inches vertically. The flower color is pale yellow.
