Wow Mauro... you might not do many Dens, but your certainly pick the beauties when you do!
Don't think I've seen this species before... really great flower shape.

Hello Mauro,
I need your help :-)
I have this plant for almost 2 years now, vigorous growth but no flowers :-)
I tried to lookup online what Dendrobium forbesii needs to flower, but a) I don't find much information and b) information seems conflicting with each other.
Some speak about warm growers, others about cool/intermediate.
I'm clueless. Can you tell me how you culture this beauty? Your topic about this Den. is the only one I found here on OB.
I tried different things, like lots and lots of light, cooler temperatures (intermediate), keeping it drier and I even stopped feeding it.
(I've been away for quit some time because of my family needed me and I had a chronic lack of time.... Everything is going back to normal since a few months. )

Nicole, the solution is very simple: Send it to me in France and I promise to send you photos when it blooms!
just kidding.. well, not really... From the book "Dendrobium and its relatives" by Lavarack, Harris & Stocker: "In cultivation, this species requires intermediates condituins, strong light and good air movement. It should be potted in a well-drained pot in a standard mixture. It should be kept evenly moist throughout the years and responds to regular fertilising with a dilute fertiliser."
It seems very important to water the plant regularly throughoiut the year!
I hope this helps!

Thanks Ramón
Will try water more evenly. Until now I let it dry out between waterings. This could be the thing it needs.
When I give up on it, I'll keep you mind but the plant is not very big and very pretty (even when not in bloom) so I need a few more growths that refuse to flower for me until I'm willing to give up on it :-)
In a few months time I might see the person I bought this division from and ask him for advise. If I get some new info I'll post it here, it's very hard to find culture notes for Den. forbesii onlin!

IMHO ..As well as water....what about 'more' light? The little I know about Dends is they like lots of light..? I'm not an expert & hopefully a more experienced grower will chip in!
