Den. Roy Tokunaga x Silver Wings
Boy do I love this one! Even out of bloom, I think it's an attractive plant - minus the burned foliage . This is the first latouria section Den I got. Purchased February last year at a local OS show. I previously hadn't had any success with the couple of Dens I had tried - a nobile, and a phal type. I thought perhaps a different type might do better for me. I fell in love with this one, and just hoped I could grow it lol. I guess I can (excepting the burned foliage) Last year the blooms lasted a bit over 3 months. The first blooms started to open late April this year, tho only just now have all buds opened.
Thanks for looking

I know I already told you this in the chat earlier, it's beautiful! Well done. A shame about the burned foliage, but I didn't really notice it.

Thanks Camille - seems I photographed around the burned foliage this time lol
I did notice in these pix some webbing which I wasn't too worried about as there are lots of small spiders around - but do want to check that out better

Thanks yes, it's a keeper! I just hope it isn't going to get too much taller than it is

Looks great, I would like a latouria as well. How long do the blooms last? What are the parents of Den. Silver Wings?

According to Orchidwiz,
Den Roy Tokunaga = Den atroviolaceum x Den johnsoniae
Den Silver Wings = Den johnsoniae x Den eximium
and Den Roy Tokunaga x Den Silver Wings = Den Royal Wings. It was registered by H&R in 2009, no awards yet.

aw thanks - this has been my first year with latouria Dens - do they keiki much? If I should get any I'll let you know. Right now the plant is still fairly 'small' (relative term lol) and was recently repotted - but we'll see how it goes, and maybe at some time there I might feel comfortable with taking a back bulb off. I appreciate your appreciation of my orchid! I do love it too!
Thanks again for the compliments Stefano
