Default Dendrobium unicum

I always think this little guy is not going to make it through the winter, but somehow it manages!

Agreed. They always look dead, then suddenly... pow, flower buds. Good job!

I really like this one and the veining on it's lip.

Angela (Tropicgirl) also posted a picture of this today. As I said on her post, I have a Stardust which is unicum x Ukon and has the same veining in the lip. It's flowers seem to be both the same way up as unicum and some the other way up.

I LOVE this chid! I just got Den lamyaiae which is the 2nd in the group of these 3 (it is a little more challenging to grow).

I still don't have unicum and I don't want to wait for a flask so I've been searching around for a nice sized bloomer.

For now the lamyaiae will have to fill in.

Melissa, Carolina Orchids has blooming-size unicums mounted on treefern. I got one from them last fall and it's been blooming very nicely for a few weeks now. I think they're seed-grown so there's some variation, but mine is a great dark orange color and also has a strong and pleasant fragrance (though I definitely see why some people describe it as smelling like a freshly-peeled crayon!).

Where'd you get your lamyaiae? Looks like a cute little species, I've been looking for this one and arachnites for a while...
