Smile Dendrobium aggregatum in bloom.

everybody !!! I wanted to share with you all my aggregatum in full bloom. This is the second year it blooms for me since I got it back in Redlands 2008 so it's been a faithful bloomer every year. This time 4 spikes which finished opening yesterday. I can't wait for this one ot cover the entire slab. Enjoy !!!

Awesome Roly. I actually broke down and bought one this year at the show. Not like me to do that with anything other than vandas but I couldn't resist it. Congratulations. I need some tips on where and how you grow it.

Thanks everybody for the comments. aggregatum or lindleyi I'm still very pleased with the blooms.
Joe I keep mine under the avocato tree right alongside with the cattleyas. So same watering or even more since I have it mounted. It seems to like whatever it is I do to it.

nom. illeg. means nomen illegitimum or in English, illegitimate name, i.e., one not in accordance with the rules of ICBN.

aggregatum was described in 1832. In 1840, lindleyi was described and seemingly because aggregatum was known to be illegitimate.

I guess it proves that news does not necessarily travel like wildfire since the name aggregatum is widely used today. Wrongly, but widely.
