Default Right on Schedule - Den. Gatton Sunray

I posted a picture of this plant last year on 5-5 and as you can see from the picture, it had a lot more work to do this year but it made it right on time. It must be the cold winter that we had because there is a profusion of flowers. Last year it only had four or five spikes but has about twenty five this year. The lip is very interesting. It looks somewhat like felt.

That's a beautiful specimen. Great growing.

I noticed that you also live in Central, Florida and that we share the same growing zone. I avoid most nobile dendrobiums because of our heat vs. their cool to intermediate temperature requirements. Do you grow your plants outside or are they grown in a controlled temperature environment? Just curious. Thanks.

That is quite a specimen plant for sure! You are definitely doing something right with that one. Your photos are really crisp and clean too. What type of camera are you using?

I was always awe struck when I saw these in bloom at my local grower, Fox Orchids, when I was growing up. As I am when you posted these pics. You brought back some wonderful memories.
