Mine is highly budded up, any day now! I grow mine in medium bark and clay pot. I give it east/south light and water maybe 2x a week. It summers outside in bright shade.

Thats kinda funny, I have a Nora Tokunaga in bloom (like 6 months now) that has a heavy vanilla fragrance to it. Its atroviolaceum x rhodostictum

I guess this orchid is now called Den normanbyense? Anyways, I realize this was an old post, but I was very interested by the comment about the flowers smelling like chocolate. I have a normanbyense and the flowers are not fragrant, but I do have a hybrid Den Little Andre that has some normabyense parentage and the flowers have a chocolate fragrance. I've never seen anyone post about Little Andre having any fragrance, but now I know I am not imagining it.
