Hi everybody,
I know this is an old thread, but I have a sense of duty to pick it up plus bring it to an end . First of all, to make things clear my plant is not seating on the bottom of my terrarium- quite on the contrary, it's on the top.

I don't know what happened (as I haven't changed anything) but little plant is growing right now 4 new pseudobulbs, all look very vigorous and have big leaves. As I mentioned before, it's very close to the light bulbs, and the leaves show it, chid seems to like it though. I'm waiting now for flowers Here are the pictures:
P.S. Sorry for the quality of the pictures, I took them with my mobile.

I wanted to finish my dendrobium story and show it as an example of how suprising our hobby can be. After about 4 or 5 years Dendrobium that I bought as D.aberrans decided to finally flourish for me and turned out to be...D. harveyanum:

piti - that's very aberrant behaviour from your plant
That said, Dendrobium harveyanum is a great species. Glad yours flowered in the end!

Haha, touché, I like your comment!
Funny thing is that I triggered it to bloom accidently, I decided to reduce water drastically because some parts of the vivarium were too soggy. Later I found out that this is the clue in case of this species, I just done it in the right time.
Also, I like yours specimen, it's so different in colour & shape than mine. Love the variety in orchids, even among individuals of the same species!

Here is short timelapse I've made: D. harveyanum - YouTube

The exposure is a little dark on many of the shots, it's not actually that orange when viewed "correctly" - it's actually pretty yellow, like yours. I probably ought to note this on that post... Thanks for sharing your time lapse

I was amazed at how many shops there were in Poland for things like vivariums and associated pets (I spent a little while in Kraków with my girlfriend [now wife!] who lived there for 6 months on a study exchange; my Christmas present from her that year was two of these from this shop) - I guess most people living in apartments means few people have dogs, cats and gardens, and that "slice of life" indoors that so many people crave is met this way.

Mine refused to bloom until I gave it a winter rest.
