Default keiki oddities

I have several baby dendrobiums potted from keikis off my older plants. The odd thing is that the tops of the leaves are a deep purple solid color. I have also noticed it on some Epindendrum babies also grown from keikis of my own plants. Is this normal? any ideas?

Yes it does sound like a bit too much light.

Yep....just probably from high light. Can you move them away just a tad further from the light source?

Default purple leaves on baby dendrobiums/epidendrums

Thanks for the responses. I did not realize that young plants needed less light than older ones of the same type. How long will this take to rectify and when will I know that they are safe to go back with their older relatives?

Watch the new growth, if it is tinged with purple, they are getting enough light.
