Thanks Orchie. This is the trouble with buying hybrids from the far east - I suspect they just
give them names without registering the hybrid.

This is very interesting. I have a plant that looks like Suresh's. I'm attaching pictures of the spikes it had when it was given to me, here in Thailand, and a closeup of one of the blossoms that may help identify it. I probably should have photoshopped the picture of the spikes; it's darker than I would wish. It seems very hard to catch the color of this flower. It's a very attractive shade somewhere between yellow and green. I'm sorry that it appears that we don't have the correct name yet, but I'm glad for the chance to learn more about the process of identifying plants.

Hi Acharn,
I think your dendrobium is different. If you look carefully at the labellum or lip as they call it, the shape and colours are quite apart. At a first glance two flowers look identical but after closer examination you will notice differences. Let me show you what I mean - I am attaching three pictures of my dendrobiums (different plants) which bloomed in the past couple of months. A closer look at the colouring on the labellum and its shape will convince you about what I am saying. The labellum of your specimen has a deep reddish tinge which is not evident in my pictures.
All the same each specimen is unique and beautiful.

OK, I see what you mean. The petals and sepals on mine are broader, too, so I now think it's more probable mine is a phal type hybrid. Well, it's a lovely color and the blooms last well -- five or six weeks as I recall. I do wish I could identify my plants, though.
