Dendrobium Resting Period? - Orchid Board

Hello lovley people,

I was just reading about resting periods.

I do not know the name but the flowers were a light limey green with a deep purple/pinky/red lip.

i have been watering my dendrobium once a week since I had it (about 6-8 months, soon after i got it, it got bud blast and the all flowers fell off). It has fairly recently started to sprout new shoots at the base of the main stem. So i would assume its healthy and enjoying life, but do i need to stop watering to give it a "rest"?

Also 1 or two of the leaves at the top of the main stem are a little bit yellow, could this be sunburn? I've got no idea.

This doesn't look like one that would need a rest. I'd give it the same care year-round

I have recently acquired several Dendrobiums, some of which, according to the wisdom shared here, need winter rest. However, my plants are still outdoors where they all are kept during the warm weather. It rained this morning and, of course, the Dends got wet. Should I put them into the GH now, although the weather is not cold enough to demand it, or leave them outside where the rain will dampen them.
The ones I have are: D. atroviolaeum Vicompactum 'kokomoumbo' x D. eximum 'Waterfield'
D. pierardii
D. Caesar's pinky
D. Aussie's chip
D. CK-AI-Cana
D. parishii x D. pierardii
D. anosmum var purple Hono-hono

All of my winter rest chids are on a shelf in the corner of the orchid room so they don't get wet until I'm ready to give some of them a light misting.

How much light does your corner get? My Dens are doing great (I think).

With semi-hydro it is easy not to overwater but I think I'm watering too frequently during the resting period. I'm flushing them every 2 weeks.

How do I know if that is too much water....should I see shriveling? Some of mine have dropped some leaves which to me is looking very normal for a deciduous.

I just want to make sure I don't kill them with kindness. I want lots of blooms next year.

The rack they are on gets rather high early daylight.
I have the top two shelves holding the plants that get no water from Halloween through around valentine's Day. They will only get a light misting if I see that they are shriveling.

The two shelves below those hold the chids which get an occasional misting during that time frame.
I usually do it around every three weeks but a basic guideline for those is Thanksgiving and Christmas then once near the end of January. By then, it's almost time to start moving them back into their normal routine.

I don't know how it works when you're growing using S/H
