ewcia.
Just meant that your plant may be a bit tall for some people, especially those who grow entirely indoors and under lights. It's wonderful for those like yourself who have the space and light.

Your plant is certainly very well grown with an abundance of blooms.

It even deserves to have a thread of its own.

Catwalker and thanks.I understand that it is too big for people growing under lights and I know exactly what you mean and if there is smaller dendrobium and with the same willing to bloom like mine so why not to buy it.

I'm kind of bummed. I just got back from 2 weeks on Maui. My atroviolaceum was in full bloom when I left and was looking glorious. My plant sitter has a very light watering hand, and this only got watered once a week very lightly. I think it got too dry because now the blooms are withering prematurely. I've already cut off over half the spikes. So be advised these HATE to get too dry.

For those who are really space challenged and like the Latouria section check out Den. aberrans. It's teeny tiny, and oh so cute. I brought one home from Komoda Orchids in my carry on.

hehe - yeah the size of yours was why I asked if you grew it outdoors - I forgot you had a greenhouse
I'm gonna have to be on the look-out for the more petite version I think

Oh no! Thats too bad Terri
I got my first latouria dens last winter, and boy do I love them! I have one larger one (tho it's in a 4" pot and fits on the windowsill just fine - for now lol), and two smaller ones - atroviolaceum pygmy variety, and Aussie Chip (atroviolaceum x aberrans). All are budding up wonderfully! aberrans and hybrids of are definitely on my wish list!
