Default atroviolaceum...trying it again...I need advice....please!

Probably my favorite-ist Dends are from the Latourias tribe. Last winter I bought a Dend. atroviolaceum and by summer, the entire plant had croaked. I have no idea what I did/didn't do to cause this. I just bought a Dend atroviolaeum viocompactum off ebay from incredibleorchids (Love this vendor, always great, healthy plants!!!!).

Can someone give me specifics on the culture for this? I don't want to lose this one. In fact, I like this one better than the first, being compact. I kept my first one out on the patio all winter (except for the severe drops in temps) and probably shouldn't have?

I'm not giving up.....yet. Thanks for your help, here!

Hi Sandy, sorry to hear your plant isn't doing well. In my experience these guys like to stay warm year round and don't like to dry out. I'm growing mine with my Catts in bright light. I had a hard time keeping up with it's watering requirements this summer. It seemed like every time I turned around it was too dry.
