They will take over in greenhouse conditions the roots grow deep and are hard to pull out break off one and it regrows . I would remove it I know a man that hired kids to remove them from 100s of pots .. Gin

chidlove.
Listen to Gin. Use a needle nose pliers or surgical forceps to pull out the deep roots before the seed capsules from this one plant shoot out 1000 volunteers and the seed from these take over your greenhouse, your lawn, and your neighborhood. The cattle in Alberta will love them.

They only have 3 leaves so they are not good luck ... not for you nor your orchids.

Another thought: Although Oxalis are tough and could probably grow anywhere, the fact that your Dend pot is staying wet enough for long enough could be a sign that the media is breaking down into more of a soil. It could be time to repot. Fresh media should dry out fast enough so that if any seeds germinated, they soon die from lack of moisture.

Oxalis is definitely a scurge. Once it takes hold it is hard to get rid of.

Yup, it will definitely take over if not eradicated. I once had a local commercial grower (who's no longer in business) try to tell me (quite seriously) that a large potted cymbidium he was trying to sell, whose pot was overrun with oxalis, was simply sporting an exotic ground cover that actually helped beautify the cymbidium. I tried to maintain my best poker face, but it was hard not to inform him that the same "exotic" species of groundcover was also beautifying large areas of my back yard. Whatever you do, get rid of it before it flowers and sets seed.

besides breaking down the medium that the den is growing in....the oxalis will compete for nutrients that your orchid needs....not cute at all....
