Default Den Winter Dawn

A friend's Den Winter Dawn (bloomed cool this past spring). Den Dawn Maree x bellatulum. Flowers were a little weary because they were over 2 months old and had been to a couple of shows.

Single plant only about 8-9" tall. When grown warm, growths are abundant, but flowers are sparse, probably due to the bellatulum influence.

Wow. What a plant. So many stalks and all so robust and healthy. Your friend is doing a good job of growing and blooming this plant.

Absolutely stunning - such fat healthy canes! BTW I believe winter dawn is formosum x bellatulum but I could be mistaken

Yeah. I think you're right.I was going from memory. It had been over 20 years since I last saw one, even though we had a lot of them before before. I was going by memory and the name.

The formosum in the background is the reason the blooms are mainly at the tops of canes ... the bellatulum the reason the hybrid blooms best under intermediate conditions.
