Do you grow yours in pot or on mount? Do not overwater this one, especially in the winter months. How about your rh?

Hey Tom - potted in very loose mix. I may have overwatered it during the winter...repotted a few months back to find not too much healthy roots. It has 3 new growths coming now, so I'm upping the water now, but no signs of good root growth yet...so I'm worried.

It was healthy when I got it, did well for one season, but dropped leaves like mad in the last 6 months or so - as you say, likely due to over watering so I will have to be more careful this coming winter

Here it was in Fall 08

I would let the plant dry out a little between waterings. Keep it slightly drier in the winter months.
It is a semi-deciduous species, so I won't worry too much when it drops few leaves in the winter months, as long as the plant is healthy with good roots.
BTW, your 2008 bloom was fantastic.
