This is the first flowering of one plant of Den. Adora Nishii ( alexandrae x spectabile )
The flower, with a little adjusting to set the petals flatter measures approx' 4 inches (100mm) across.. It had 4 flowers but one fell. The colors here are true also.

The hybrid looks more like its momma. Here is the pappa. Alexandrae has few and slender canes. Spectabile makes the hybrid more robust with fuller canes and more flower spikes. I guess spectabile also makes the flowers a little bizarre in a very appealing way.
