I've never found mine to have a noticeable scent. I thought it was scentless to be honest, and much like you, I can never do justice to the color, but I think you did a better job then I ever have. Mine flowered about a month ago, and is actively putting out new growth now, but looked dead according to a few of my customers that saw it in between.
