Dendrobium kingianum
Tis the season of D. kingianum. This is my oldest orchid. Right now it is smelling up the whole living room.

Beautiful and well grown. Mine has flowers coming, but it's not a large, which might be a good thing.

Nice. Very nice. I still don't like dendros though. But nice.

Tin, I don't like Dends as a rule, but I was given this one for free! I shove it in my unheated basement window in October and leave it until just before Christmas then bring it back upstairs, where it blooms from late jan through march. The fragrance is very strong of baby powder. Mine will be divided after flowering as it is getting too big.

Wish I could bloom them-what a beauty!
Todd, how do you get them cool enough to bloom?

Barb, my basement window is only about 10 C and if really cold outside, can drop to just 5 C. The kingianum doesn't mind it a bit..I think the colder, the better the blooms!

Maybe that's the problem!? My growing environment tends to 62F to 75F.
