Default your little epigeneium

Hi, did you recently get that guy from an ebay auction or a classified here on OB? I got a couple of epigeneium seedlings from a seller here on the board. each of mine lost a leaf (or two) after shipping and adjusting to their new environment. Epigeneiums do loose their old leaves and eventually the old bulbs will turn yellow and shrivel...
anyway, i have a couple blooming size Nakaharais and they loose old leaves from time to time. Nonetheless, my seedlings seem to have stablized and one of them is even putting out new growths I wouldnt worry about it. Give your guy some time. they are slow growers, but with the conditions you described it should do well...

Yes in fact I did get it from someone from the OB on ebay, lol. Yeah, so the smaller growths around the larger p~bulbs are growing faster as that leaf yellows back. So I'm assuming King's assessment is correct, that the older, albeit young, bulbs are making way for the newer growths.

So as King suggested I repotted, I couldn't find any cork bark, or tree fern plaques around and I'm kinda short on cash. So, I was in a craft shop the other day and found 1.5" clay pots, they were 2 for a dollar. and I also made some finer media for the miniatures. We'll see how it goes...

Smile how is the epigeneium seedling?

Bulbophile,

how is your epigeneium seedling doing? Its been about a month since i got mine ... i bought 3 seedlings from the same vendor.

1 is going crazy. i have it mounted with a mature epigeneium nakaharai. that seedling put out 3 new growths.

the other 2 are mounted together. they havent done anything. 1 looks bad - the other looks healthy but hasn't done anything...

Will post pics soon...

Default more epigeneium seedlings

Hi Bulbophile,

here are images of my epigeneium seedlings.

the first image is 2 seedlings on one mount. they are not doing anything, but they seem fine - i think. I am wondering though if the top one on this mount has any viable "eyes" left. It has many tiny brown shrivelled bulbs. bottom seedling on this mount seems healthier, but is not doing anything yet...

the second image is a mount with a mature nakaharai on the bottom half and a seedling on the top. This particular seedling is doing well and has about 4 new growths happening
