Den. Frosty Dawn, A Den. Dawn Maree Hybrid
Den. Frosty Dawn is a Den. Dawn Maree hybrid bred by H&R Nurseries in Hawaii. This is the second year that the plant has bloomed. The lip on this Frosty Dawn is darker red than the other Frosty Dawns that are in bloom. Most have orange colored lips.

I really like the photo especially the detail of the stem. I did not realize this plant is so beautiful in close-up.

Hi. Thank you very much for your compliments. Photography is a hobby for me after orchids. I have a pretty good digital Canon camera (Canon 5D) and lens setup. For the past couple of months, I have been using a flash to take my photos indoors. That way I don't have to battle with the wind and other elements which could cause the flowers and plant to move. I also use a tripod to eliminate any camera movement. Once you get the equipment in place, it's then a matter of finding a few good plants to take pictures of.

Too cute. I love it. Now that I'm enjoying some success with Dens, I'll put this on my wish list.

Gorgeous plant - that color is pretty amazing!! I have a frosty dawn from H&R that I'm hoping will bloom soon...and the photography is excellent. I am thinking of buying a digital SLR camera soon, mainly for taking orchid/other plant photos so it's good to hear what photographers use.
