Very very nice dendrobium Meredith!!!

It's not that Dendros are evil! They just up and die! Yeah, I guess you could say they are evil  And keep in mind one of my most consistently-bloomed species is Dendrobiums!? Go figure. It's also one that I have killed most often as well. Strange lot they are!

Oh wow I wish I could bloom something like that. Dends are a little stubborn

The leaves on mine did not fall off. I have three budds only. I often do not have many flowers on all my orchid. Did I not use the right fertilizer? The leaves seem to have enought light though.

Wish I could grow them like that! Well done!

I've had fairly good fortune with Dendrobium since getting the Baker's book on Dendrobium. Cool and reduced water and fertilizer in winter, and as much sun as they can take (some like full sun). That generalization covers most of the Dendrobium species. Your beautiful nobile falls into the cool, dryer winter generalization according to the Bakers! Over night lows are below 50 for 3 months in there natural habitat. I read in a post recently that the secret to blooming was exposing them to below 40 during their rest period, but I haven't tried that with mine. I believe you will love this orchid, if not for the shear beauty, then for the wonderful scent!

Thank you all for the nice comments on this dend. Hopefully I will have good luck again with it. I have noticed something that I wasn't expecting. Where the spent flowers have dropped on two of the canes, there are new growths coming. At first I thought they were more buds, but they turned out to be leaves - almost like a bunch of keikis, but I'm not sure. Is this normal? Let me know if a picture would help, as I will post one. Thanks so much! :)
