And, for me too, Sue.
I've been wondering and don't think I'm going to get buds on mine. It's hanging in a basket, haven't watered since mid October. It's newest cane (about 10") is bare of leaves except the last 2 at the end which still haven't fallen off? I believe they all should have fallen by now, right? Does this mean the cane probably won't produce buds this year and shouldn't they have started budding by now?
And, if this doesn't bud for me this season, when should I resume watering? Wait for new growth?

Then straight through until I stop watering in the fall? Thanks again.

I start water/fertilizer at same time - as soon as the flower buds are advanced enough that I am sure they won't blast. Typically this is in April, but the plants were early this year and they are in bloom now. I haven't found they need heavy fertilizer if you fertilize daily. I use a mix of 125ppm nitrogen daily until they go into dormancy. This was last year's bloom:

This may be a bit short to blossom. The canes typically are 24"+ when ready to bloom. I would start watering if you see little green buds or shoots at the base.

Thanks for the info Ross and here I was, thinking that I'd be getting flowers this season. Now I'm bummed but, maybe, next year. No new growth yet but I'll start watering the little beast as soon as I see this.
Thanks again.

Here are a couple pics of my plant. As you can see it is just one cane, with one new growth that is only 1/2 inch long. Will it bloom from this cane again next year? How long until it looks like your plant, Ross????

Yours looks right on schedule for an early April bloom. That's how it's supposed to look this time of year. Good job.
