Default Den gracilicaule

I have just purchased a Den. gracilicaule. I was just curious if anyone knew how much light they prefer? Should it be in the 2000 - 2500fc range? Higher? Lower?

Orchidwiz says lighting should be between 2500 and 4500 fc.

Give it as much light as it can take just short of burning the leaves

It also says that in habitat, the smallest forms grow in the shadier areas while the more robust are out inthe very bright light

It's a real cutie

Awesome, thanks so much Susanne! Good thing I checked, I did not think it could handle quite that much. Would you happen to know the fc range for Den kingianum?

Sure...Orchidwiz is a wonderful tool that I don't think I could live without now that I am accustomed to having it.

kingianum likes 2500-4000 fc.
It says most growers prefer bright Phal lighting while other say they need intense light (where the leaves get a purplish tinge to them)

I highly recommend it...you have loads and loads of information right at your fingertips. If you decide to do it, I suggest getting the annual maintenance plan too, it just makes more financial sense than getting the updates and upgrades individually.

I just had a look at the site. I had not realized the cost of the Orchidwiz software. A great tool indeed, but I may have to stop buying any 'chids for the next month! Definitely makes sense to get the Maintenance package!
Thanks again

Yeah, it's definitely not cheap

I've had mine for a few years now but a bunch of members here were able to get it at a 33% discount as a Christmas special that Marty worked out with Alex Maximiano (Orchidwiz's creator)

Keep an eye open for a special in the future, that's the best way to do it
