Default Dendrobium hybrid huge in S/H

Den. (Sailor Boy X Snow Boy) X Super Ise

I love this plant since it has bloomed all Winter for the last 3 years. Also reblooms in the Summer. But I have to give it away since after this years growth I will not be able to lift it anymore.

This is from a keiki I put in S/H culture four years ago. I am trying a couple of keikis now in water culture since they would be easier to cut back to a reasonable size and still maintain the bloom cycle.

What do you do when your orchids get too big to lift?

I always look forward to reading your posts Sun rm. The water culture that you've adopted (or devised?) always fascinates me. This plant is fantastic. I hope you consider doing nothing with it except making more room for it. It's just sensational.

I should be so lucky!!! Too big equates to lots of room and room is a very rare commodity around here so, being I like having lots, I compromise by having a lot of little ones. I do though, have 2 huge dends that I keep on the patio on wired shelving, way too large to lift. They're secured with bungee cords because the winds can fiercely kick up here in Fla., without warning. Both are in bark mix and when watering, I put buckets under them for draining.

Thank you all for taking the time to help me celebrate success. Most of us need it to endure all the frustration with the rest of them.

SP yes it is fragrant but not as intense as other Super Ise hybrids.

Sandy I chuckled when I read your post about lassoing your Dends. I have to keep this one in a heavy clay pot. I love these repeat blooming fragrant Dends and am still looking for a dwarf. There was a clone available years ago called Princes Asai but I have not come across it. H&R made a hybrid of it but I don't know if it is fragrant.
